About This Quote

The age in which we’re born is not the only thing that changes us. We become what we want to be at a certain age, and we learn the things we need to know to become that person. When we’re young, we dream of becoming artists and writers. All the things we want to do as adults–become a success, make lots of money, be loved by everyone–we want those things because those things make us feel like the most important people in the world.

As we grow up and learn how to be adults, we realize that those things don’t always make us happy and sometimes even make us feel like failures. We realize that it’s not everything you want that makes you happy; sometimes, it’s all about what you want to do with your life anyway.
